About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Adult Congenital Heart Disease Registered Nurse to join our team at Texas Children's Hospital. As a key member of our cardiovascular care team, you will provide exceptional nursing care to patients with complex congenital heart disease, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with our cardiovascular team to provide comprehensive care, including hemodynamic monitoring, STEMI, stroke response, and pulmonary embolisms.
  • Administer medications and treatments, documenting all care in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in unit performance improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, empowering them to take an active role in their care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or associate's degree, technical diploma, or current enrollment in a nursing bridge program.
  • Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact and current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • 1 year of professional nursing experience, with a preference for ICU, Intermediate (IMU/Stepdown) experience.
  • 2 years RN experience preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate positive and appropriate interpersonal skills, good time and resource management skills, flexibility, strong oral and written communication skills, knowledge of unit-specific equipment, and knowledge of the nursing process, critical thinking skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
