About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team at KIPP DC. As a special education teacher, you will work closely with students to help them achieve their goals and overcome challenges.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging and inclusive lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students. You will work in a collaborative environment with fellow teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Develop and teach challenging and engaging lessons informed by instructional data.
  • Build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Mentor and support colleagues in their professional development.
Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as education or special education.
  • At least two years of teaching experience in a PreK3-12th grade school.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to working with students from communities with limited access to quality educational opportunities.
Compensation & Benefits

KIPP DC offers a competitive salary range of $65,500 - $115,000, based on experience, plus benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, and paid time off.

This is an exempt position, meaning your compensation will not be subject to overtime pay calculations.
