Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Assistant Manager to join our team at Harmons Grocery. As a key member of our bakery department, you will be responsible for assisting the Bakery Manager in maintaining the highest standards of quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Bakery Manager in overseeing daily bakery operations, including production, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve bakery efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Train and mentor bakery associates to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Bakery Manager to plan and execute special promotions, events, and product launches.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of bakery sales, inventory, and production data.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with the Bakery Manager to develop and implement plans to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Participate in inventory management, including ordering supplies and managing inventory levels.
  • Assist with scheduling and staffing, ensuring adequate coverage during peak periods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Bakery Manager or Store Director.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college education or experience in a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a bakery or related field, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Current Food Handlers Permit required.
Working Conditions

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to hot, cold, slippery, and wet conditions. The associate is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach, as well as perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand, and foot coordination. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is also required.
