Job Overview

The LVN staff nurse will provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies and procedures. Working closely with the patient, their family, and other healthcare professionals, this role requires a collaborative approach to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based care to patients as directed by physicians or registered nurses
  • Assist with medical procedures, monitoring, and other functions as required
  • Perform laboratory tests within the scope of practice, after demonstrating competency
  • Document patient care in a timely and thorough manner
  • Serve as a resource to department staff, students, and volunteers to ensure quality patient care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of Texas or a Compact State
  • BCLS certification
  • Graduate of a Vocational Nursing Program

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years of experience as an LVN in Med-Surg
  • Specialty certification/training as appropriate
  • Ability to read and write Basic English with basic skills necessary to understand and transfer physician's orders
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to work as a team member within a team to ensure quality patient care
