Job Description

The Nicholson Companies Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accounting Specialist to join our team.

As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple entities. This includes generating financial reports, budgeting, and forecasting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Generate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analysis for multiple entities.
  • Assist the accounting team in performing controllership and bookkeeping services for clients.
  • Perform all accounting-related functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable management, payroll processing, and sales tax returns.
  • Post journal entries, reconcile ledgers and bank accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare reports for external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Review and report on billing, collections, and write-offs.
  • Develop and implement budgeting and planning forecasts and report on variances.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in using accounting software to record, store, and analyze financial data.
  • Able to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree with accounting coursework preferred.
  • At least three years of bookkeeping experience preferred.

We offer a competitive salary of $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
