This role is based in an MUFG office or client sites four days a week, with one day of remote work. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

The Role
  • Advise MUFG business lines and support functions on legislative, regulatory, and supervisory matters, including U.S. banking laws for foreign banks operating in the U.S. and applicable laws and regulations of financial markets.
  • Analyze and research complex legal issues, providing practical advice to executives, senior management, and relevant stakeholders in the U.S. and globally.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on policy matters impacting MUFG's operations, regulation, and strategic corporate objectives.
  • Assist with new financial product development and implementation.
  • Identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, and supervisory risks.
  • Monitor federal and state legislative and regulatory proposals affecting MUFG Group and MUFG Americas.
  • Advise on governance matters for banking organizations.
  • Participate in internal audit and supervisory examinations.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in New York, Washington, D.C., or California.
  • 4+ years of in-house, law firm, or regulatory agency experience advising on banking, securities, and/or financial markets regulation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
  • Working knowledge of specific statutes and regulations, including International Banking Act, Bank Holding Company Act, National Bank Act, and Dodd-Frank Act.
  • Basic knowledge of key securities regulations and Investment Company and Adviser Acts.
About the Opportunity

We offer a competitive salary range of $172K - $222K based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
