Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is an integral part of our Behavioral Health Department, providing patient-centered care to individuals in need. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with other disciplines to promote a culture of safety and treatment excellence. Your responsibilities will include providing individual interactions and group facilitation, utilizing verbal de-escalation techniques, and conducting patient and visitor searches.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care under the direction of the RN, focusing on trauma-informed and patient-centered approaches.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support vulnerable populations, using verbal de-escalation techniques as needed.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure a culture of safety and treatment excellence.
  • Conduct patient and visitor searches, maintaining confidentiality and respect for individuals' rights.

Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Social Services or a health-related field, or 60 college credits required.
  • At least 6 months of experience in Nursing, Behavioral Health, or Customer Service required.
  • Current certification in Heartsaver CPR BLS according to American Heart Association standards required.
  • Completion of training in Preventing & Managing Crisis Situations PMCS required.
