Journeyman Carpenter

Job Summary:

TEPCON Construction Inc is seeking a skilled Journeyman Carpenter to join our team as a Drywall Specialist. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial framing and drywall, with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction projects, specifically journeyman level framing and drywall.

• Interact with busy facility managers and engineers, communicating concisely and effectively.

• Work flexible hours, including off-hours to accommodate clients.

• Organize and prioritize work and job site, ensuring a fast-paced environment is managed efficiently.

• Follow through with inspectors and subcontractors to close out projects to the client's satisfaction and in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Journeyman Carpenter with drywall, framing, and painting experience.

• Painter (Brush/Roll/Masking/Prep) and Drywall (Hang/Tape/Texture) skills.

• Metal Stud Framing (Minor) required.

• Demonstrated technical competencies, including framing and drywall (2 years), knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the carpentry trade, and ability to follow established safety rules and regulations.

• Ability to measure accurately and calculate dimensions, as well as read blueprints.

• Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 80 pounds.

• Experience in commercial, occupied environments a must.

• Ability to work in occupied, professional environments.

• Maintain records, document actions, and present written progress reports.

• Cleans equipment, shop area, and work site area.

• Must be able to pass background check and drug test as this is a safety-sensitive position.

• Must be able to work nights and days.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic expertise/knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, flooring (Carpet/VCT/Tile), and ceiling tile/grid repair.

• OSHA 10 certification and AZ Driver's License.

• Must have own tools and truck.
