Job Summary:

The Staff Level II Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for the evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning of all patients referred for their given therapy services. This role is an integral part of the healthcare team, accountable for assisting patients to progress to their highest level of function.

The Staff Level II therapist will uphold the mission, vision, and values of Thomas Jefferson University & Jefferson Health. They will work in conjunction with other healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment plans and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapy evaluations, treatment planning, treatment interventions, and discharge planning for a full patient caseload in acute care, skilled facility, acute rehab, and outpatient settings as appropriate.
  • Participate in student education for part-time or full-time students.
  • Participate in orientation and preceptorship of new or rotating staff.
  • Complete education, teaching, and professional activities commensurate with position.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver treatment programs that help clients/patients recover and rehabilitate.
  • Utilize tools and techniques to administer safe therapeutic interventions and trainings for patients and families.
  • Record and document clients/patients' health progress information for evaluation, including daily treatments, progress notes, evaluations, and discharge summaries.

Requirements:

  • Masters' Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • 2 years of clinical practice required.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • State License required.
  • CPR certification required.
