Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $67,000 to $80,000, dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience. Job Description

The Therapist Specialist will work in a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing treatment services according to our clinical model. Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, providing milieu interventions, leading psychoeducational and process-oriented therapy groups, facilitating clinical assessments, conducting therapy sessions, and other case management tasks as assigned.

  • Ensures timely completion of clinical documentation that meets quality standards outlined in policies.
  • Completes and responds to documentation requirements and timelines to ensure compliance with monthly medical record reviews.
  • All documentation must be completed at the time of service.
  • Establishes therapeutic rapport with patients and families/loved ones.
  • Facilitates admission assessments and the admission process for new patients with professionalism, courtesy, and a welcoming attitude.
  • Understands role in providing expeditious access to care for individuals seeking services.
  • Participates in weekly treatment team and communicates weekly treatment goals with all team members.
  • Maintains a caseload of 5-6 patients in RTC and 10-15 in OP level of care.
  • Completes appropriate number of therapy sessions assigned weekly for patients, including family/support system sessions aligned with patients' level of care.
  • Facilitates process-oriented and psychoeducation groups one to two times daily in RTC and 2-4 times daily in OP.
  • Required to sit at meals/snacks a minimum of once per week.
  • Facilitates multi-family groups, family programs, and/or family weekends.
  • Provides utilization reviews to insurance companies, providing clinical information to obtain initial authorization and continuing stay authorization as necessary.
  • Is accessible to family members/loved ones, returning calls and emails within 2 hours during business hours and 24-48 hours otherwise.
  • Assesses patients for suicidality and danger to self/others.
  • May provide additional clinical support for team members in their absence.
  • Communicates with Utilization Review Department and Business Department regarding authorization/payment.
  • Begins discharge planning on day of admission for all patients.
  • Completes discharge session with patient to ensure coping skills, transition plan, and resources are understood/intact.
  • Ensures discharge appointments are confirmed with patient/loved ones prior to discharge.
  • Communicates with referral sources/outpatient providers for continuity of care upon admission/midpoint/discharge.
  • Facilitates patient transfers to higher levels of care as needed.
  • Actively participates in clinical outreach/program tours as needed.
  • Effectively manages crises in sessions/milieu.
  • Provides support to milieu staff in interactions with patients/loved ones.
  • Works collaboratively with entire treatment team/milieu staff to ensure highest level of clinical quality.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a Master's or Doctorate degree in a relevant field, completion of state requirements for therapeutic interventions, and CPI certification within 90 days of hire. You will also need CPR/AED/First Aid certification and a current driver's license in good standing.
