Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Educator of Advanced Nursing Practice to join our faculty at Assumption University. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating clinical learning experiences in our state-of-the-art Clinical Learning Suite.


Responsibilities:

">

I. Education and Training Environment

">

* Develop, revise, evaluate, and train faculty and students on the Clinical Learning Suite standards of operation, including policies and procedures that adhere to regulatory and accrediting agency standards.

">

* Orient, train, and provide development to faculty (part-time and full-time) and students for the effective use of all Clinical Nursing Suite equipment and resources.

">

II. Facilitating Learning in the Health Care Environment

">

* Integrate evidence-based practice teaching-learning strategies throughout the Clinical Learning Suite to facilitate students' ability to 'think like a nurse,' make clinical decisions, and develop clinical judgment.

">

* Design, coordinate, and evaluate, in conjunction with course coordinators, the clinical skills and simulation rotations required to augment healthcare agency clinical experiences.

">

III. Demonstrating Effective Interpersonal Communication and Collaborative Interprofessional Relationships

">

* Delegate and supervise faculty, staff, and/or work-study students to maintain effective workflow of the Clinical Learning Suite.

">

* Serve as a liaison to vendors supplying software, hardware, materials, and other resources utilized in the Clinical Learning Suite.

">

IV. Applying Clinical Expertise in the Health Care Environment

">

* Serve as a professional role model in the clinical learning environment.

">

* Use clinical expertise to develop clinical scenarios that will facilitate the application of theoretical material into clinical practice.

">

V. Facilitating Learner Development and Socialization

">

* Maintain an inclusive, safe, and non-threatening clinical learning environment for all students, faculty, and staff.

">

* Actively participate in the Student Success Learning Contract used to remediate identified weaknesses in student clinical practice.

">

VI. Implementing Effective Clinical Assessment and Evaluation Strategies

">

* Establish, oversee, and provide quality improvement reports of the Clinical Learning Suite performance goals and objectives.

">


Requirements:

">

An unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nurse license; A Master's degree in Nursing; A minimum of three years full-time or the equivalent of acute or critical care nursing experience; Willingness to contribute actively to the mission of the University and show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University; Commitment to the Mission and Vision of Assumption College and the School of Nursing; Documented experience in nursing education; Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing nursing practice, including nursing education; Knowledge and use of high-fidelity simulation and other innovative clinical education strategies; Competency in software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 software, Apple iPad software and apps, and database management.
