Career Opportunity:
The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team in De Smet, SD. As a CNA, you will provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support.
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate.
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
- Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
