Job Description:

At Hubbell Power Systems, we're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer Co-op to join our Integrated Substation Solutions team. As a key member of our team, you'll support our manufacturing, design, and engineering departments in our world-class facility.

A Day in the Life:
  • Assist manufacturing with implementation of safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements
  • Design fixtures, carts, and tooling
  • Research and justify new capital equipment using A3 methodology
  • Create methods for standard work procedures
  • Participate in Rapid Improvement (Kaizen) events
  • Recognize and help with problem-solving efforts
  • Assist with preventative maintenance procedures
  • Work with design engineers to implement design changes
Requirements:
  • Pursuing a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or related field; 2nd year + preferred
  • Basics of manufacturing processes such as welding, metal cutting & forming, painting, assembly, and serviceability
  • Utilization of Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • 3D modeling experience with AutoCAD or Creo is a plus
  • Mechanical/construction aptitude and hands-on design a plus
  • Experience in fixture design; part-specific tables and tools to help with manufacturing practices
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems
  • Ability to take on multiple responsibilities and projects at once
  • Background in 3D printing is a plus
  • Ability to work in a team environment
Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $55,000 and $65,000, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
