Job Opportunity

Felsburg Holt & Ullevig is seeking an experienced water resources engineer to join our team in Denver or Fort Collins. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing complex water resources projects and collaborating with colleagues to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities
  • You will lead hydrology and hydraulics support for transportation projects, as well as standalone projects such as stream restoration, floodplain analysis, and major outfall systems.
  • You will design roadway drainage systems, including roadside ditches, curb and gutter sections, storm sewer design with utility conflicts, and retrofitting storm sewer design.
  • You will also analyze bridge and culvert hydraulic performance, including sizing proposed structures, analyzing existing structures, scour analysis, and design for scour protection.
  • Additionally, you will conduct floodplain analysis using HEC-RAS (1D and 2D) to support documentation for floodplain development permit applications and prepare Conditional Letter of Map Revision and Letter of Map Revision applications to FEMA.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year college or university with an emphasis on water resources. A Master's degree is considered a plus.
  • 5-10 years of experience in water resources design with a focus on roadway drainage design and stormwater quality design.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
  • Experience with hydrology and hydraulic modeling software like CUHP, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, CulvertMaster, HY8, FlowMaster, StormCAD, SewerGems, EPA SWMM, etc.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: PE license required in Colorado.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $72,000 - $90,000 annually, based on your skills, qualifications, and experience. We are committed to offering a competitive compensation package that reflects the value you bring to our team.
