About This Role

This position plays a vital role in the Echocardiography Laboratory Team at Geisinger. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and leadership.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year

Job Description

  • Acquire echocardiographic examinations and maintain normal operation of the adult echocardiography laboratory.
  • Transport equipment and patients safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with special procedures, including transesophageal echocardiography, intraoperative echocardiography, pericardiocentesis, and contrast echocardiography.
  • Analyze and file echocardiographic data using digital computer analysis systems.
  • Develop and maintain internal training programs and provide technical instruction on echocardiographic techniques.
  • Perform mobile Echo services as directed by leadership.
  • Interpret policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals and deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited training program in cardiac ultrasound is required.
  • Certification as a Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer within 6 months of hire is mandatory.
