Job Summary

Airswift is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to lead substation switchyard projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in substation design and engineering, with a strong bias for action and excellent project management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead substation projects from conception to commissioning, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Develop and manage project scope, timelines, and budgets, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with transmission owners, operators, and ISOs to ensure project deliverables meet specific requirements.
  • Manage project long lead major material orders to minimize risk of delays or exceeding the project budget.
  • Support E&C Estimating with template updates, technical support, and scope modifications.
  • Ensure projects are efficiently, cost-effectively, and safely implemented in accordance with department processes, procedures, industry standards, and policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation/switchyard projects.
  • Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with a strong bias for action.
  • PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline is a plus.
