Job Title: Specialist Engineer, System Safety

Virgin Galactic is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Engineer, System Safety to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing product safety artifacts for new and existing designs.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with project engineering to develop Product Safety artifacts
  • Provide support and risk advice to production, maintenance, technical, project or program personnel
  • Conduct safety analyses, including System Safety Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Failure Mode Effects Analysis
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage risks associated with product development and operation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Requirements:
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in an Engineering discipline, Mathematics, or Physics from an accredited university
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering development lifecycles and software development practices
  • Experience with Built-In-Test and its application to product safety
  • Knowledge of FAA commercial space regulations and system safety methods
  • Strong statistical analysis skills and ability to read electrical and mechanical engineering drawings
