Substitute Nurse

Osseo Area Schools is seeking a skilled Substitute Nurse to provide healthcare services to students in our district. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing the health status of students and school personnel, administering medication, and providing emergency care when needed.

Our ideal candidate is a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse currently licensed in the State of Minnesota with a strong background in first aid and health screening. You will have the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, and teach health information to student groups. • Assess the health status of students and school personnel, including performing first aid and emergency care as needed
• Administer medication and specialized health care treatments to students under the direction of physicians and with authorization from parents or guardians
• Conduct health screenings and facilitate referrals to healthcare agencies or facilities when necessary
• Promote and maintain the health and well-being of students, families, and school personnel through health teaching and counseling
• Develop Individual Health/Emergency Plans for students with special health needs, communicating with families, teachers, and staff as needed
• Prevent and control communicable disease through health education and implementation of state immunization laws
• Maintain accurate health records on all students enrolled in the school

• Registered nurse or licensed practical nurse licensure in the State of Minnesota
• Basic first aid and health screening certification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in an educational setting

Osseo Area Schools offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:

• $52,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience and licensure
