Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled SMT Equipment Specialist to join our team at Salcomp Manufacturing USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting SMT, AOI, Xray, and rework equipment, including programming, profiling, debugging, and maintaining equipment in all these areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate AOI programs and debug existing libraries to increase component inspection accuracy.
  • Program AXI equipment.
  • Program, debug, and maintain SMT pick and place equipment.
  • Create soldering profiles for SMT reflow ovens and hot air rework equipment.
  • Program SPI machines.
  • Make innovative programs for SMT screen printers.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of IPC-610 workmanship standards.
  • Discuss quality of soldering with engineering and adjust controls according to instruction.
  • Support area leads and operators.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an AA degree or certificate from a technical school preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in lieu of an academic degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of direct experience working in SMT or PCBA process engineering.
  • Hands on experience with optimizing SMT pick and place, reflow oven, conformal coating, or through hole soldering systems.
  • Passion for advancing the commercial space industry and human spaceflight.
  • Strong work ethic and drive to succeed.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Working Conditions

  • Incumbent must be able to operate a computer.
  • Lift/carry 40lb. or less, push/pull 12lbs. or less.
  • Stooping, bending, stretching, and reaching outward and over their head.
  • This position may require extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  • May require travel.
  • Associates will be required to take all appropriate training classes as required.
  • Willingness to cross-train into other departments.
