Supervisory Copyright Specialist

Job Summary
The Library of Congress is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Head of the Licensing Section in the Copyright Office. This is a supervisory position that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of copyright laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Licensing Section in the examination and recordation of all licensing documents, corrections, supplemental payments, refunds, and interest charges.
- Determine the appropriate royalty fees required by the copyright law.
- Supervise employees performing work at the GS-12 level and below engaged in the examination of statutory license applications.
- Track progress and compliance with congressionally mandated throughput targets for cable statements of account.
- Compile statistics on the operation of the Unit for various reports, including the Annual Report.
Requirements
- Ability to supervise and/or lead and develop a diverse workforce.
- Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems and develop solutions.
- Ability to communicate and interact with others.
- Knowledge of copyright laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and practices.
