Dental Hygienist Position

The Dental Hygienist is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality oral health care to our patients. As a Dental Hygienist, you will work closely with our dental team to deliver exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Perform patient screening procedures, including assessment of oral health conditions, review of health history, and oral cancer screening.
- Record patient-hygienist transactions in the patient's dental record, ensuring accurate and complete documentation of patient care.
- Integrate patient dental hygiene care with other healthcare professionals involved in patient health care management.
- Remove calculus and plaque from teeth using cavitron, piezo, or hand instruments.
- Apply preventive materials to teeth, such as sealants and fluorides.
- Counsel patients on good nutrition and its impact on oral health.
- Participate in the Quality Improvement program of the Dental Department.
- Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
- Diploma from an accredited dental hygienist program.
- Active DC Dental Hygienist license and Local Anesthesia Certification.
- 2 years of experience in a dental office practice preferred.
- CPR certification required.
- Ability to work in a non-profit environment and commitment to serving under-resourced communities.
