Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images using MRI technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews patient charts and physician orders to determine optimal imaging parameters for suspected pathology.
  • Selects the proper imaging coil for each study.
  • Performs imaging studies using proper scanning techniques and protocols.
  • Works with physicians to optimize MRI sequences to produce the highest quality MRI images.
  • Administers contrast media following MRI department protocols.
  • Verifies pregnancy status and obtains MRI consent documentation when necessary.
  • Determines whether patients have been properly prepared for procedures.
  • Documents diagnostic and patient data in the appropriate record.
  • Performs post-processing techniques to optimize imaging or studies.
  • Draws up sterile contrast media and other solutions following hospital-approved infection control guidelines.
  • Administers emergency care, including performing CPR.
  • Performs MRI safety screens and identifies contraindications.
  • Responsible for scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, and overtime as needed to provide quality patient care.
  • On-call assignments as needed per individual hospital and departmental policy.
Requirements
  • Compliant with ARRT or ARMRIT MRI educational and clinical requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
  • Minimum of one year of MRI experience preferred.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Tech.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Working Conditions

Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
