Job Title: Valet

Department: Pool and Spa

Reports To: Pool and Spa Manager

Summary

The Pool Valet is responsible for a variety of essential tasks aimed at maintaining and servicing pools and associated equipment. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring high-quality pool conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute service orders and follow verbal instructions to remove, repair, and install pool systems and equipment. Provide guidance to customers on the operation of pool equipment and maintenance practices.
  • Perform repairs on concrete surfaces, pool covers, skimmers, vacuums, and pumps.
  • Replace filters, sand, valves, pipes, and hoses as necessary.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of pools and related equipment.
  • Install new drains and skimmers as required.
  • Follow established procedures for seasonal pool openings and closures.
  • Drive company vehicles to various customer locations to deliver necessary materials and supplies.
  • Assist colleagues with large installations, repairs, and heavy equipment handling.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of parts and materials for assigned tasks.
  • Document service calls, parts utilized, and time spent for billing purposes.
  • Utilize hand and power tools, company vehicles, and other departmental equipment as authorized.
  • Adhere to all company policies, including safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned to meet business needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for personal work and occasionally overseeing one other individual.

Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • Basic understanding of equipment and service manuals, with the ability to interpret instructions.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; one to three years of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

  • Proficient in reading and writing in English.
  • Able to comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Competent in basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to make minor decisions regarding pool service repairs and maintenance.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • This position is considered safety-sensitive due to driving responsibilities and handling of chemicals.

Physical Demands:

The physical requirements for this role include:

  • Moderate physical activity.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of heavy materials.
  • Frequent mental and visual attention, with intermittent workflow.
  • Standard 40-hour workweek, with potential overtime during peak seasons.
