Job Summary

The Early Learning Mental Health Consultant will provide consultation support to Family Services programs, including staff, children, and families. This role involves conducting classroom observations, providing written and oral feedback, and developing plans to support the needs of children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-person or virtual classroom observations to identify areas of need and provide feedback to staff.
  • Develop and implement plans to support the needs of children and families, including providing guidance on social and emotional development and mental health.
  • Collaborate with the Education/Disabilities team, PAT Management, Safe Harbor Management, and CDC Management to identify children, staff, or families who require additional support.
  • Provide support during case management meetings and provide guidance to staff on how to support children with challenging behaviors in their classroom.
  • Develop and implement a monthly Q&A opportunity for staff to participate in and provide coaching and training to apprentices in a distance delivery model.
  • Participate in meetings and lead a staff wellness committee to promote a positive work climate and identify beneficial staff supports to reduce burnout.
  • Provide support and resources for parent trainings as needed and develop parent resources around family and child mental health and wellness.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
  • Clinical license or certification as a Mental Health Professional.
  • Minimum of 2 years direct experience in a mental health setting providing prevention services and/or mental health therapy to children and families.
  • Knowledge of child development from birth to 5 years of age, specializing in mental health.
  • Proven ability and willingness to be self-directed in problem-solving and decision-making.
