Firmware Development Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Embedded Firmware Engineer to develop and maintain firmware for our sensor network and devices. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with other functional leaders to drive project success. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.

  • Design and implement high-quality, low-maintenance firmware.
  • C programming in real-time environments using 8/16-bit processors and DSP.
  • Maintain and enhance existing firmware codebase.
  • Develop comprehensive software documentation.
  • Create and implement test procedures to ensure software quality.
  • Manage software deployment and packaging processes.
  • Implement functionality on both operating system (Linux) and non-operating system targets.
  • Implement protocols such as RS232, RS485, Modbus, I2C.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems into customer sites.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer engineering or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of industry experience in firmware development.
  • A solid understanding of sensor networking and core Internet protocols.
  • Proficiency in National Instruments LabVIEW and experience with scripting languages like BASH and Python.
  • Strong familiarity with the Microchip PIC processor family and lab instrumentation.
  • Comfortable working with various operating systems (Linux, Windows).

Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of C++ and/or Java.
  • Experience with version control tools (git, GitHub/GitLab) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins or GitLab).
