Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a dedicated Sonography Specialist to join their team in Lake In The Hills, Illinois. This ongoing position offers 20 hours of work per week, with evening shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Image Acquisition and Quality Control: Determine the most effective image scan technique and patient position using immobilization and support devices.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate advanced ultrasound equipment, including liver and breast imaging systems, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Patient Safety and Care: Ensure patient safety by maintaining compliance with established safety standards and best practices.
  • Clerical and Administrative Duties: Perform clerical tasks, such as maintaining accurate patient records, answering phone calls, scheduling examinations, and preparing sedation/needles according to prescribed procedures.
  • Quality Assurance and Coordination: Coordinate quality control activities, respond to inquiries, and facilitate patient flow to ensure timely completion of exams.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: Must be a graduate from an accredited AMA School of Sonography.
  • Certification: Certified by Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 1 year of hire.
  • Knowledge and Abilities: Effective interpersonal skills, ability to interact with customers at all levels, and basic knowledge of HIS and RIS systems.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Lifting and Mobility: Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints.
  • Hazardous Materials and Life-Threatening Diseases: May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases, requiring attention to safety protocols.
  • Age-Specific Patient Care: Recognize needs and behaviors of various age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and older adult patients.

This position involves direct patient care and requires the ability to make independent professional decisions regarding high-quality patient care. A heavy lifting capacity and strong technical skills are necessary for success in this role.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
