General Manager Job Description

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring that it is managed in a manner that contributes to the achievement of objectives established through annual operating plans and revenue.

The General Manager will provide strong and effective leadership and management, fostering an environment that encourages contribution by all employees to overall company objectives. They will make sound decisions on behalf of iFLY and its team members, working closely with Senior Management to ensure strategic business objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all daily operations, including customer service, call center, and instructor staff
  • Supervise and manage daily flight and staff schedules
  • Monitor flight manifest to ensure maximum occupancy
  • Interview, hire, and train team members
  • Conduct team member reviews, recognition, and disciplinary actions
  • Manage inventory control and ordering of merchandise and supplies
  • Ensure safety of operations and team members
  • Manage and maintain daily reporting, payroll, and timekeeping
  • Prepare and review budgets, profitability, and Profit & Loss margins
  • Control operational expenses and improve profit margins
  • Ensure facility cleanliness and maintenance
  • Participate in proactive incentive programs, reward schemes, and team building events
  • Work with Sales Manager on statistics and success of sales promotions
  • Assist in short- and long-term sales and marketing strategies and evaluate effectiveness
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of management experience, including strong program marketing experience
  • Demonstrated strong team leadership and development ability
  • Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, database management, content management systems, and desktop publishing applications
  • Project management and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, creative writing, and negotiation skills
  • Experience in generating presentations and proposals
Education:
  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Recreation, Facility Management, or a combination of experience and education
