About the RolePremier Bone & Joint Centers seeks a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a Radiology Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for operating radiology equipment to make clinical diagnostic images and performing routine diagnostic procedures to facilitate high-quality patient care.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate Radiology Equipment
You will operate radiology equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images as directed by physicians. This includes X-ray, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and other specialized imaging modalities.
Perform Diagnostic Procedures
You will perform routine diagnostic procedures, including X-ray exams, to facilitate high-quality patient care. This includes following established procedures for patient care and safety, utilizing knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary for X-ray exams, and taking X-rays following established protocols.
Communicate with Radiology Group
You will communicate and coordinate with the reading radiology group as necessary, concerning tele-radiography and clinical report procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
X-ray
- You will utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray exams, including body mechanics and patient movement.
- You will give clear instructions for the X-ray process and assist patients with radiologic procedures by escorting them to dressing rooms, waiting areas, and X-ray rooms.
- You will take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety and follow all necessary precautions to help reduce radiation exposure to patients and others involved in the exam.
Patient Instruction/Assist
- You will give clear instructions for the X-ray process.
- You will assist patients with radiologic procedures by escorting them to dressing rooms, waiting areas, and X-ray rooms.
X-Ray Procedure/Protocol/Precaution
- You will take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- You will follow all necessary precautions to help reduce radiation exposure to patients and others involved in the exam.
- You will utilize physician-specific protocols for various body parts examined.
Film Badges
- You will assist with monitoring and mailing film badges on a monthly basis for radiology and ASC personnel.
Evaluations
- You will assist with preceptor and annual performance evaluations.
Clinical Office
- You will greet patients and visitors in a timely and friendly manner and direct them to the appropriate person or department.
- You will answer telephone calls and questions politely and direct calls as necessary.
- You will check patients in and out via EMR and/or practice management system.
Patient Files/Patient Paperwork
- You will compile information to be placed in the patient's chart, including verifying New Patient/Old Patient paperwork is accurate and complete, witnessing consents, explaining and witnessing acknowledgments, taking patient's photo when needed, and verifying History and Physical is complete and signed.
Scheduling Module
- You will maintain computer appointment scheduling module.
Scheduling and Demographics
- You will correctly schedule patient appointments in the practice management system using current scheduling requirements placed by the physicians.
- You will screen all patients for complete patient information and correctly enter into the practice management system, including correct spelling of name, date of birth, address, telephone numbers, insurance information, body part, referring physicians, X-ray location, and identify correct patient type.
Financial
- You will collect deductibles, co-payments, and charges, prepare receipts, and provide copy to patients.
Workers' Compensation/Motor Vehicle Accidents
- You will obtain correct information and ensure appropriate forms are completed.
Charges
- You will enter and tally correct charges on all encounter forms.
Medical Records
- You will route records and patient files to the appropriate location and assist with medical records requests.
Closing Procedures
- You will ensure closing procedures are followed daily.
Information Processing:
Films for Surgeries
- You will prepare, retrieve, and deliver films for surgeries at Premier Bone & Joint Centers, ASC, and hospital operating rooms.
PACS
- You will have the ability to use Premier Bone & Joint Centers' PACS and electronic medical record systems.
- You will ensure X-Ray and C-Arm studies are properly sent to, and archived in PACS system.
Proper Documentation
- You will properly mark the charge sheet for X-Ray, and C-Arm exams performed in a timely manner.
- You will maintain complete and accurate records and properly code each exam on appropriate charge forms.
- You will document pertinent information in the computer log and in the patient's chart.
Down Time/Other Duties
- You will perform additional duties during downtime, such as clerical, stocking, cleaning, etc.
- You will perform other duties as directed/required to ensure efficient operations of Premier Bone & Joint Centers.

- You will communicate your name and role to patients.

- You will observe confidentiality of information in regards to patients, physicians, and fellow employees; ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA standards.

- You will adhere to safety and infection control policies.
Standards of Care
- You will perform patient care according to policies and procedures and standards of care of the facility.
Care of Environment, Equipment, and Supplies:
Clean, Neat, Safe Environment
- You will maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff, including personal work areas.
Maintenance
- You will schedule X-Ray machine, and C-Arm maintenance as necessary.
- You will troubleshoot equipment problems and coordinate vendor services.
Supplies Ordering
- You will order supplies for department, including X-Ray, and procedure room.
