Advantage SCI, LLC is a leading provider of government services, committed to delivering exceptional solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients. We are seeking an experienced Federal Health and Safety Manager to join our team in the DC Metro Area.

Job Summary:

This role involves assisting our government customer in implementing a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety program, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and federal regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, evaluating, and maintaining safety and occupational health services, as well as providing expert advice on matters affecting employee health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports Implementation and Monitoring: Assist in developing and implementing position-specific health and medical standards for law enforcement personnel, including physicals and hearing tests.
  • Develops Employee Health Programs: Collaborate with the Human Capital Office to create, implement, and maintain random drug testing, suicide prevention, and other employee health programs.
  • Prepares Health and Safety Policies: Assist in preparing policies, procedures, and guidance related to the Health and Safety program, as well as conducting office assessments to identify and address safety vulnerabilities.
  • Investigates Hazardous Conditions: Identify and analyze hazards, and recommend corrective actions to eliminate, correct, or protect against them.
  • Responds to Emergency Incidents: Participate in incident management and respond according to government policies and procedures to emergency incidents, analyzing accidents and hazardous conditions to determine origin, causes, and contributing elements.
  • Coordinates Safety Programs: Train others on managing hazards using established safety codes and standards, and provide stakeholders with information necessary to develop safety-related procedures and guidance.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher: A degree in engineering, biology, chemistry, or occupational safety and health is preferred.
  • 5-7 Years of Experience: Must have at least 5-7 years of experience in occupational and health safety in the federal sector, applying expert knowledge of public safety, occupational hazards, and OSHA standards.
  • Certifications: Must have and maintain current certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM).
  • Skills: Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, and experience in OSHA recordkeeping requirements.

Working Conditions:

Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach daily, walk stairs regularly, lift up to 15 pounds occasionally, and work in a low-to-moderate noise environment.
