Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, RN Clinic, you will provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, and holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting. You will support the Mercyhealth nursing mission, practice values, and strategic plan. This role may include variable shifts, weekends, holiday, and/or on-call hours. You will perform other duties as assigned, including floating to various units based on identified needs and clinical competency.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.
  • Document according to standards of care.
  • Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy, including patient and family instruction.
  • Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.
  • Utilize clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
  • Utilize critical thinking in regards to patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalate to the appropriate chain of command.
  • Participate in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities, and decisions and peer review process.
  • Offer ideas and/or solutions to practice issues.
  • Use innovative methods and intuitive skills to develop and implement plans of care.
  • Provide innovative ways to educate patient/families.
  • Initiate interdisciplinary collaboration to meet the patient/family educational needs.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Licensed as an RN in the state of practice.
  • Approved CPR certification required within 90 days.
  • 10 hours of continued education.
