Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the surgical team with preparing for procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Handle surgical instruments, sutures, and sponges with precision and care.
  • Maintain a clean and safe operating room environment, adhering to strict aseptic technique.
  • Assist with patient transportation and verification of patient identity.
  • Participate in departmental in-service education programs and provide input on new policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited surgical technician program.
  • Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists is highly desirable.
  • One to two years of experience as a surgical technician is preferred.
