ProMedica Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be competent to care for patients of all ages and will perform duties and responsibilities outlined below as assigned.
Key Responsibilities- Perform prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice, as required per business unit.
- Initiate, manage, and wean invasive and non-invasive ventilation; airway management and suction, including tracheostomy, endotracheal and pharyngeal; cuff and ETCO2 monitoring, intubation and extubation.
- Set-up, calibration, insertion (arterial lines) and maintenance of indwelling lines and catheters, and high risk newborn deliveries.
- Respond to rapid responses and emergency codes; perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and actively participate in patient stabilization, internal and external transports.
- Collect and analyze blood samples and perform continuous and/or noninvasive monitoring, bedside pulmonary function screens, spontaneous breathing parameters and electrocardiograms (EKG).
- A graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program and maintain credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Must be licensed to render respiratory care services by the respective state(s) of practice – Ohio and/or Michigan.
- Must hold current BLS certification. ACLS, NRP, and PALS certification is recommended, and may be required at some business units.
