About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Gecko Hospitality (Corporate). As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with our Executive Chef to create innovative, seasonal menus that showcase our culinary expertise.
  • Supervision and Coordination: Oversee kitchen staff to ensure seamless daily operations and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment.
  • Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor kitchen personnel to promote teamwork, professional growth, and exceptional culinary standards.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Food Preparation and Presentation: Ensure high culinary standards in food preparation and presentation, maintaining the highest level of quality and presentation.
  • Compliance: Maintain compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our members and guests.
  • Leadership: Assume responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef, demonstrating strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-end restaurant or country club setting.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent culinary arts education.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Exceptional culinary skills, with a passion for creating memorable dishes and a commitment to excellence.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with the ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
