Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm and Security Systems Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing fire alarm and security systems. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, service, and repair fire alarm and security systems, including panel repair/reprogram, device replacement/repair, and system testing.
  • Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to assure efficient execution of all assigned tasks.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Program fire alarm, security, and access control system panels.
  • Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Work on call and after hours as required to meet customer needs.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years' experience with fire alarm systems.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Good working knowledge of computers.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Retain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.
  • Must possess STATE OF OHIO Fire Alarm License.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical training preferred.
  • NICET II preferred.
