We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Intervention Specialist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health in Lisle, Illinois. This is a full-time opportunity with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Estimated Salary: $10,000 - $15,000 per month

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Intervention Specialist will be responsible for providing professional, highly technical nursing care to all cardiovascular patients while assisting physicians during all cardiovascular procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac cath lab technology and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain complete documentation of cardiovascular procedures
  • Participate in in-services, continuing education, and workshops to remain abreast of new procedures and current technologies
  • Accountable for the maintenance of quality control in all areas of the lab
  • Provide a secure and safe environment for patients and staff maintaining constant awareness of safety hazards
  • Assistance with new staff orientation within the department
  • Act as a role model within the department serving as a resource person for all clinical activities
  • Assisting in the development of new operating procedures
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Typically requires 2 years cardiac Cath lab experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in PTCA, EPS preferred, with an AAS in RTR or a minimum of 5 years' experience as RTR preferred
  • Minimum of 12 CEU hours per year
  • Ability to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to anticipate patient and unit needs
  • Ability to teach procedures to the staff
  • Current License in the state of IL as a RT and ACLS and RCIS within two years of employment
  • Ability to function in a high stress environment, lift and move heavy patients and equipment, stand for long periods of time, wearing lead apron (approx. 18 lbs.), and work flexible hours and on-call basis
