Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

Responsibilities
Operate ultrasound equipment and perform a variety of technical diagnostic procedures, including 2D/Doppler echocardiograms, pharmacological and TMT stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms. Prepare equipment to ensure it is operational, safe, and functioning. Perform daily equipment and room maintenance after each procedure. Complete quality checks and maintain equipment logs. Participate in patient testing, performing routine, non-routine, urgent, and emergent patient requests. Communicate with patient transportation, nursing units, physician offices, and other diagnostic areas. Perform portable examinations at the bedside to ensure patient safety and provide immediate diagnostic testing when needed. Assist with patient scheduling when required. Ensure patient orientation, preparation, and teaching are provided. Provide specific diagnostic test information to patients. Obtain patient history according to specific departmental procedural protocol. Complete processing diagnostic tapes, worksheets, and supporting documentation of logs.
Qualifications
An Associate's Degree or one year certificate from a health-related program in a related medical field, including seminar course training in cardiac ultrasound, is preferred. Registration by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) as RDCS or RVT or registration by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as RVS or RCS is also required.
