Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Professional to join our team at Grassi. As an experienced Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Collaborate with our project managers to develop detailed, cost-effective budgets for various construction projects.
  • Accounting and Financial Reporting: Perform accounting duties throughout the project, including preparing invoices, estimating cash flow, and signing off on purchase orders.
  • Financial Analysis and Risk Management: Analyze all transactions and work with unforeseen costs into the budget, identifying potential financial risks and budgetary discrepancies.
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all project finances for internal and external auditing and tax purposes.
  • Financial Reporting and Communication: Prepare cost analyses by interpreting projects' financial data and information, and report any financial risks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Financial Operations: Perform monthly bank reconciliation, journal entries, invoicing accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed, AIA billing, payroll, and workers comp reporting.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in construction accounting and AIA billing.
  • A minimum of 3 year's experience in private or public accounting.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction cost accounting and related financial procedures.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, such as QuickBooks.
  • Working knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Solid analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a small family office environment.
