Job Summary

As a Packaging Inspector, you will examine and pack products while maintaining critical production and quality standards.

You will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities
  1. Pack polyethylene bags/liners in a neat and orderly manner according to job specification.
  2. Check the quality of products for width and length, seal strength, packaging specifications, and any other special instructions.
  3. Report all production or equipment problems to the Machine Operator and/or Supervisor.
  4. Maintain a clean work area at all times.
  5. Assist in processing start-up as required.
  6. Maintain required production and quality records as required.
  7. Perform other related functions and duties as assigned or required.
  8. Observe all safety regulations.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to read and write to complete required forms and verify quality products.
  • Good vision, eye-hand coordination, and hearing.
  • The ability to adhere to Berry's Safety, Health, and Environmental Vision, Policy, and Standards.
  • The ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, days, or nights for 12 or more hours.
  • The ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and crawl for extended periods multiple times per day.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Manual dexterity involving total wrist action, twisting, pulling, and raising arms at or above shoulder height.
  • The ability to work in warm, humid, and cool climates for 12 or more hours per day or night.
  • The ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, steel toe shoes/boots, face shield, gloves, and face mask.
