Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Phoenix, AZ area. As a key member of our patient financial services department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless billing and revenue cycle management.


Salary Details

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $20-$25 per hour, commensurate with experience. This competitive compensation package reflects the company's commitment to attracting top talent in the industry.


Job Responsibilities
  • Billing and Insurance Claims: You will be responsible for submitting accurate and timely hospital billing claims to insurance providers and managing claim denials.
  • Patient Registration and Authorization: Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills to register patients, obtain necessary authorizations, and ensure eligibility verification.
  • Financial Counseling: Provide patients with clear explanations of their financial responsibilities, including copays, coinsurance, and deductibles.
  • Account Management: Generate balance sheets, prepare deposits collected, and follow up on missing information to maintain accurate patient accounts.
  • Additional Duties: You may be required to perform other tasks as assigned by management to support the smooth operation of our patient financial services department.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 3+ years of recent experience in patient registration, medical collections, or medical billing is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work with minimal supervision, communicate effectively via email, phone, and in person.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Suite and familiar with AHCCCS working knowledge.
