Vascular Imaging Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Imaging Specialist to join our team at Medical Imaging Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing vascular imaging procedures, producing high-quality images, and presenting them to radiologists or vascular surgeons for timely interpretation.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ultrasound and vascular technology, with excellent customer service and communication skills. They will also be proficient in the use of information services and technologies, adhering to HIPAA standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform Vascular Imaging Procedures: Prepares patients for imaging procedures by confirming physicians' orders, verifying patients' identities, and obtaining adequate medical histories to ensure the appropriateness of examinations and facilitate timely accurate diagnosis of the patient.
- Review Patient Schedules: Reviews patient schedules to promote efficient use of resources and proper selection of exam protocols.
- Maintain Equipment: Performs and documents daily start-up and routine maintenance of all imaging equipment.
- Implement Universal Precaution: Implements universal precaution when dealing with potentially biohazardous situations.
- Decontaminate Equipment: Decontaminates imaging equipment when indicated.
- Support Clinical Staff: Supports and assists interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses and clinical staff as needed.
- Manage Images: Archives, retrieves, and manages images produced during procedures.
- Adhere to Policies: Adheres to departmental policies, procedures, standards, and protocols to ensure effective departmental operations and quality patient care.
- Demonstrate Knowledge: Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge and understanding of ultrasound and vascular imaging services/activities.
- Interact with Patients: Interacts with all patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Address Customer Needs: Addresses customers' needs efficiently, effectively, and confidentially.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors by requiring and supporting the establishment, maintenance, and education of an effective safety management program.
- Inventory Management: Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials by reporting inventory depletion and restocking to ensure their continued availability and non-interruption of services.
- Record Keeping: Reports, records, and files patient and procedural data in order to accurately document department operations and facilitate timely accurate billing for services.
- Communicate with Referring Physicians: Responsible for faxing final report to outside referring physicians in accordance with policies and HIPPA.
- Participate in Performance Improvement: Participates in performance improvement activities.
Requirements:
- ARRT/ARDMS/CCI registered or registry-eligible in Vascular Sonography/Vascular Technology.
- Completion of accredited two-year program in Radiologic/Ultrasound Technology or equivalent.
- Two years' relevant experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of computer systems.
Salary Information:
The estimated annual salary for this role is $ 75,000 - 90,000. This figure is based on national averages and may vary depending on location and individual qualifications.
