We are seeking an HR Generalist to join our team at Reliance Relocation Services, Inc. in Chicago, where we maintain a hybrid work arrangement. The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day operations of the HR Department with an emphasis on benefits, HR administration, payroll support, and employment engagement activities.

  • Serving as the subject matter expert on the Paylocity system and providing systems support for various HR tools is essential.
  • Maintaining and managing all HR data storage ensures that employee records are current and follow best practices while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
  • Training and onboarding new employees on the Paylocity system is also crucial.
  • Entering and validating new hire data, time off accruals, benefit processing changes, employee personnel data, status changes, and terminations requires attention to detail.
  • Analyzing benefit and payroll discrepancies and providing corrective actions is a key responsibility.
  • Collaborating with managers to finalize time entry and prepare payroll for semi-monthly processing involves effective communication.
  • Managing the service anniversary award program and other benefit programs assigned to this role require organizational skills.
  • Overseeing leaves of absence, disability benefits, FMLA, and COBRA involves ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Ensuring compliance with ACA requirements, EEO postings, and AAP reporting necessitates knowledge of regulatory standards.
  • Completing Verification of Employment requests and unemployment correspondence requires strong written communication skills.
  • Participating in the design, communication, and administration of employee benefit programs, including new hire enrollment and Open Enrollment, demands creativity and analytical thinking.
  • Driving employee engagement by collaborating with employee committees, overseeing activities, and managing employee communications involves fostering a positive work environment.
  • Partnering with the Accounts Payable team on benefit invoices to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper remittance requires coordination and attention to detail.
  • Functioning as a liaison with benefit vendors and brokers involves building relationships and negotiating contracts.
  • Documenting and maintaining all HR business processes is essential for smooth operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Previous HR experience is a plus.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in the HR field is highly valued.
  • Experience with HR and payroll, particularly with Paylocity, is advantageous.
  • A high level of initiative, intellectual curiosity, and a service-oriented mindset are essential.
  • Strong accuracy and detail orientation are necessary.
  • The ability to ask great questions to uncover issues demonstrates critical thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively is vital.
  • Excellent work ethic, strong multi-tasking abilities, good organizational/prioritizing skills, and adherence to deadlines are expected.
  • The ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, be tactful, and maintain confidentiality is necessary.
  • General proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) are expected.

This position offers an estimated salary range of $55,000-$65,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
