Child Neurocritical Care Neurologist Position

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Department of Neurology is seeking a neurologist with clinical and research interests in Child Neurocritical Care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric neurology and experience in neurocritical care. The position will offer a primary academic appointment at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and provide opportunities for faculty career development, including support for academics and research.

The department has a large primary pediatric residency with over twenty fellowship programs, including a Child Neurology Residency and a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship. The UNC Pediatric Neurocritical Care Unit within the Division of Child Neurology is expanding, with leadership opportunities to start and lead a pediatric neurocritical care physician and nurse practitioner training/fellowship program.

The position will include child neurology hospitalist duties and neurocritical care follow-up outpatient time. The department provides protected research time, and production from this time is expected. We have a comprehensive epilepsy level IV section with multidisciplinary treatment approaches, including epilepsy surgery, VNS, and ketogenic diet.
