We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Transport Associate to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients throughout the hospital and clinics, utilizing a computerized patient transport system.
Key Responsibilities- Escort patients safely and professionally to their destinations, adhering to established service and productivity standards.
- Provide transfer assistance to nursing and patient care staff, following established SOPs and utilizing proper equipment and techniques.
- Maintain equipment and supplies, identifying and reporting defective equipment to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Utilize the patient tracking system to identify and mark milestones events during patient transport, and work with care providers to resolve delays and conflicts.
- Exhibit a professional, courteous, and positive demeanor at all times, adhering to hospital and department policies and procedures.
- A minimum of a high school graduate or GED.
- A minimum of 1 year general experience in Customer Service (preferably Healthcare).
- Computer experience helpful, with data entry and enhanced telephone service skills.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs and utilize proper body mechanics in moving and lifting patients and files.
