Job Overview

Join the State of Oregon in a dynamic role as a Natural Resource Specialist 3 - Hatchery Operations Biologist, playing a crucial part in coordinating and directing statewide artificial propagation activities.

About the Role

This position is responsible for compiling data, analyzing and summarizing it in various forms. Key responsibilities include developing biological criteria for operation, designing remodeling and new construction of fish propagation facilities, researching and investigating new and improved fish culture techniques, and managing the statewide private fish propagation license program.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Fisheries or Wildlife Science or a closely-related Bachelor's degree with at least 45 quarter (30 semester) hours of biological/ecological coursework;
  • Three years of biological experience performing studies, research, or resource management activities in a fish or wildlife program;
  • Experience compiling data, analyzing and summarizing data, and writing reports;
  • A Master's degree in Fisheries or Wildlife Science or a closely-related Master's degree in biological/ecological sciences may substitute for up to one year of required experience.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $77,500-$97,200 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. As a State of Oregon employee, you will also receive a competitive benefits package, including 11 paid holidays a year.
