We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Creative Works in Augusta, ME.

Job Summary

This is a full-time opportunity to work in a residential program for adults with brain injuries, providing support and assistance to help them live independently.

As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment that fosters independence, dignity, and personal growth.

You will work closely with participants, their families, and our team to develop and implement individualized plans that promote successful outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Advocate for assigned individuals, ensuring their medical, dental, and therapy appointments are scheduled and kept.
  • Provide personal care support, including lifting and assisting with daily activities.
  • Transport individuals to appointments, work, and other activities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily logs and incident reports.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, families, and healthcare providers.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience working with individuals with brain injuries preferred.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
