Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Handler to join our team at the Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Downtown Wilmington. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing donations, maintaining a clean and organized warehouse, and providing exceptional customer service to our donors and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process donations, ensuring they are properly cleaned, tested, and prepared for sale.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, including the drop-off area and sales floor.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to donors and customers, answering questions and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist buyers with loading their purchases and issue donation receipts as needed.
  • Test and inspect all electrical merchandise, dishwashers, washers, and refrigerators to ensure they are in working condition.
  • Price merchandise at a minimum of 50% off retail, ensuring competitive pricing and maximum sales.
  • Help answer phones and run the register as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds, stand, squat, bend, and climb on a consistent basis.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to operate a cash register.
  • Ability to relate to people with diverse backgrounds and work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening test.
