BAYADA Home Health Care seeks a skilled Home Health Occupational Therapist for a job opportunity in Wind Gap, Pennsylvania.
About the Role
This position involves making home visits to clients in designated geographic territories. As a home health occupational therapist, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team that provides rehabilitative care and skilled nursing services to patients, enabling them to receive the necessary medical attention to remain at home.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will perform thorough evaluations of patients' functional status, including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, and ADL and IADL performance. They will also assess cognitive, psychological, and motor aspects of performance and develop individualized intervention plans to achieve favorable outcomes.
Additionally, the occupational therapist will evaluate the home environment for hazards or barriers to independent living, identify equipment needs, and make environmental adaptations to enhance client outcomes. They will continually assess and revise the occupational therapy care plan, participate in multidisciplinary care planning as needed, and educate patients, family members, or other patient representatives in rehabilitative care and activities necessary to promote health, safety, and independent living.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, applicants must have a current PA Occupational Therapist license, prior home care experience is preferred but not required. A minimum of one year of recent work experience as an occupational therapist is also required. The ideal candidate will have graduated from an occupational therapy program accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA and the AOTA, as indicated by school transcript or diploma. Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills are essential. Solid computer skills, particularly experience with electronic medical records (EMR), are also necessary.
