About the Role

Elite Spectrum Care LLC is seeking a highly skilled Autonomous Behavior Therapist to join our team in Houston, TX. As an essential member of our organization, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality behavioral health care services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work under the guidance and oversight of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or RBT Supervisor to provide behavior analysis services and techniques. Key responsibilities include implementing procedures for continuous and discontinuous measurement, collecting data on client behaviors electronically, and describing behaviors and environments in observable and measurable terms.

Main Responsibilities
  • Measurement
    • Implement procedures such as continuous and discontinuous measurement.
    • Collect data on client behaviors electronically.
    • Describe the behaviors and environments in observable and measurable terms.
  • Assessment
    • Assist in conducting preference and/or functional assessments.
  • Skill Acquisition
    • Identify the essential components of a written skill acquisition plan.
    • Prepare for the session as required by the skill acquisition plan.
    • Use contingencies of reinforcement.
    • Utilize discrete-trial teaching methods and naturalistic teaching strategies.
  • Behavior Reduction
    • Identify the key elements of a written behavior plan.
    • Incorporate interventions based on adjusting elements such as motivating operations and discerning stimuli.
    • Put differential reinforcement procedures into effect.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Prepare objective session notes.
    • Maintain a consistent dialogue with a supervisor.
  • Professional Conduct and Scope of Practice
    • Adhere to the BACB's RBT supervision requirements.
    • Communicate with stakeholders.
    • Maintain professional boundaries.
    • Maintain client dignity.
Requirements
  • Education Requirements
    • Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body.
    • Student of an education program on a path to working with persons diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.
  • Experience Requirements
    • 1+ year of experience as a Registered Behavior Technician.
  • Certificates, Licenses and Registrations Required
    • BACB RBT Certification.
    • American Heart Association CPR/BLS.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
    • Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job.
    • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, providers, and co-workers.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Exhibits strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills.
    • Possesses proficient computer knowledge.
