Job Summary

The Building Tech I (intermediate level) operates, monitors, and maintains utilities, including HVAC setup, maintenance, and balancing, water treatment, purified water, and process equipment. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing facilities mechanical components and electrical equipment and systems in accordance with SOPs, internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications, and safety policies. The ideal candidate will develop, maintain, and secure a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools, recommend purchase of maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies to streamline processes and increase efficiency, and assist engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve facilities processes.

Essential Duties
  • Perform planned maintenance, repairs, modifications, and general facility maintenance tasks in areas such as painting, patching, fixtures, caulking, carpentry, etc.
  • Respond to Facility Service Work Orders from building occupants, including plumbing, HVAC, lighting, roofing, and electrical service calls.
  • Diagnose building management/energy management systems for faults and errors.
  • Assist other technicians in the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Complete all required paperwork timely and accurately.
  • Use tools and equipment that are standard issue and do not need further calibration or adjustment.
  • Keep tools and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Observe and comply with all company safety policies.
  • Work on and complete all facility team-based goals.
Minimum Requirements
  • 3-5 years of commercial HVAC experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Technical degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Current universal refrigeration license and/or other trade licenses as required.
