Restaurant Cook

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our team at The Scotsman Public House.

• Evaluate ingredients for freshness and quality, ensuring consistency in final products.
• Prepare and follow recipes accurately, including precise measurements and mixing techniques.
• Expertly cook a variety of foods using different methods, such as baking, grilling, steaming, and boiling.
• Present dishes in an appealing manner, garnishing and arranging with flair.
• Serve food occasionally, running plates with precision and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, handling utensils, equipment, and dishes with care.
• Store and handle ingredients safely, adhering to proper food safety and sanitation standards.
• Prepare stations thoroughly, restocking and replenishing supplies as needed.
• Clean equipment, dishes, and facilities to high standards, ensuring seamless service.
• Foster teamwork by assisting colleagues and contributing to a positive atmosphere.

• Minimum 6 months of experience in a restaurant kitchen prep environment.
• Prior experience in cooking and/or prep is preferred, but not required.
• Reliable transportation is essential for timely attendance.
• A valid ServSafe Food Handler certification is mandatory; obtainable upon hiring.
• Possession of a ServeSafe Manager Certification is desirable but not necessary.
